To download your evaluation copy of SimKit, simply click on the DownLoad button at the bottom of this page.
The file that you download is a self-extracting executable that will create an appropriate folder structure, extract and copy all files to their normal location, install desktop shortcuts and Start Menu items as required. The total full download file size is approximately 6.5 Mb including all the technical documentation, application notes and Help Files, etc.
The unpacked size of the full version of SimKit, including documentation, is about 40Mb so you should ensure that you have at least this amount of space for it and any models that you create on your hard disk.
The names of the install file is:
SKSetUp.exe.
This will normally be saved to a folder associated with your Browser. To install SimKit simply double click on SKSetUp.exe in Windows Explorer.
On installing SimKit you will find that the main system modules, that is, the Model Generator, Model Manager and Analyser utility, etc., are installed in a folder called SimKit. In addition, there will be four sub-folders named Lib, Docs, Examples and WordView. Full details are included in the Readme.txt file installed with the software.
An initialisation file will also be saved to your Windows folder.
The Lib folder contains all the model functional components and associated parameter setting and display utilities.
The Docs folder contains all the technical documentation and application notes in Microsoft Word format. If you do not have Microsoft Word on your system, you can install a Microsoft Word file viewer. A self-extracting installer is included in the WordView folder. Double click on this file in Windows Explorer if required and follow the instructions.
The following documentation-and more- is provided:
- Simulation Using SimKit, An Introduction.
- SimKit, Operating Instructions.
- Applications using the Queue Library.
- Applications in Manufacturing Systems.
In addition, the readme.txt file found in the SimKit folder will provide much useful information regarding your system installation including installing SimKit over a network and details of the software licence agreement. Use of SimKit implies acceptance of the terms of the Licence Agreement so please take time to read it.
The Examples folder contains all the model configuration and parameter files referred to in the included Application Notes.
Further technical documentation and application notes will be found on the SimKit support site. There is a link to this site on the navigation bar above.
Thank you, for your support from all at ROSIM Systems.
If, after you have tried SimKit, you wish to remove it from your system, please use the Uninstall utility in the SimKit folder rather than use the Add/Remove Program utility in Control Panel.
